Organisational & applied psychology

Organisational and Applied Psychology involves the application of psychological theories, findings and practices to specific contexts, particularly within the workplace. Our research here examines areas such as: the relationship between humans and technology (communications, systems design, risk-taking, human error and cue-based learning in complex settings); the prediction and management of behaviours impacting on work performance (including proactive, adaptive and counter-productive behaviours); the prediction and management of factors influencing employee wellbeing, and its consequences; the nature and impact of organisational factors influencing employee motivation (including incentive systems, trust and justice issues, and work challenges); and the nature, impact and assessment of individual differences (with implications for organisational selection).
