Perception & cognition

Perception and cognition involve our sensory and mental processes which allow us to navigate and interact with the world around us. Our research here examines visual attention, visual word recognition, reading, motion rivalry and after-effects, visual expertise, pattern recognition and forensic identification. Additionally, depth perception in stereoscopic (3D) movies, recognition and perception of faces and bodies, and pursuit eye movements are also studied. Other research interests cover perceptual memory, olfactory perception and imagery, as well as the perceptual and cognitive processes involved in music appreciation.
